For the 1.5 inch and 2 inch Separating Mounting Bases (for boats), install the Backing Plate underneath the hull for when you're bolting the Receiver in place - creates a more uniform pull and pressure on the Base and makes it easier to install

For larger shade areas and larger boats, in order to provide more stability for the Separating Mounting Bases, use the oval shaped stainless steel MOUNTING PLATE to give a wider, more secure footprint.  To install, can use counter sunk screw - either a machine screw or self tapping screw.  1/4 machine screw (size 14) self tap outside on the mounting plate, and to attach receiver to the mounting plate, use M6 screw.  If you have questions, contact us!

The Mounting Platform (or Spacer) is used when installing Separating Mounting bases on boats - it is not required (just an optional mounting accessory) - it means when bolting the receiver to the boat, there is no need to drill the large hole into the hull for the button on the receiver.  Install the Mounting Platform using the 5 holes for bolts, and then install the Receiver on top of it.  Very easy.  (Delrin, 1 inch thick, for the 1.5 and 2 inch/38mm and 53mm Separating Mounting Bases)
